Google to launch localized versions of VOIP in Mideast

Yahoo account can be hacked easily without any phishing, virus or Trojan

Maryam Al-Joaan A young, enthusiastic and ambitious scientist from Kuwait will be the first Kuwaiti female to set foot on Antarctica in February on a scientific expedition.Maryam Al-Joaan told the Kuwait news agency, KUNA, in Brussels that she will be officially representing the Kuwait Science Club, an educational NGO, in this expedition. She worked there on space education and public outreach program.

BlackBerry ban eyed in Kuwait

Kuwait City – The Ministry of Interior is planning to stop BlackBerry Messenger (BBM) service and a decision to this effect might be issued within the next few days, reports Al-Shahid daily. A security source said the service cannot be controlled by the Ministry of Communications or security authorities and hence, users of BlackBerry sets were taking advantage to spread rumors and call for strikes.

Authorities seeks to block unidentified mobile accounts

Ministry targets 700 phone lines used to harass citizens & expats

Kuwait Airways Holiday packages booking on internet next month

Kuwait – Commercial state carrier, Kuwait Airways Corporation (KAC), is set to offer internet booking next month for its holiday packages for the summer, a senior member of staff said here Saturday. Head of the Holidays Department at the airline, Khalaf Al-Manea, told KUNA that the booking for the package tours will be open to travel agencies in June and customers in August.

Need to provide affordable international calls to expats

Kuwait – Personnel from the Ministry of Interior and Ministry of Communication raided 39 Internet cafes in Salmiya and Hawalli and arrested 22 persons due to their violation of residency laws and involvement in call trading (Arab Times May 5, 2010). The call trading gang installed around 216 landlines telephone instruments, PCs for their customers! What is “remarkable” in this recent crime update is not the arrest of such culprits, but the continuation of illegal call trading.
