14,000 Kuwait applicants to perform Haj

Kuwait – Kuwait will send 14,000 people to perform Haj (pilgrimage) this year, a Kuwaiti official has said. An agreement on the quota was reached with the Saudi authorities overseeing the organization of the fifth pillar of Islam held in Makkah and its immediate surroundings.

Grand Mosque hosts 22,000 worshippers

KUWAIT: The Grand Mosque hosted some 22,000 worshippers during the evening prayers on the second of the last ten evenings of the holy month of Ramadan, Saturday. Sheikh Khalid Al-Jhaim was one of the Imams for the night, and in press remarks recalled the great weight of all acts of worships on these last ten nights. “It is no wonder, then, that Kuwaitis are keen on prayer at the mosque, and the Grand Mosque is by now a landmark of Kuwait known even in other parts of the world.

Report shows rise in world restrictions on religion

Kuwait: Civil Service Commission issued a memorandum regarding the Eid holiday, where it announced that it will be four days if Eid begins Thursday September 9th and that Sunday will be off to compensate Friday. Employees will go back to work on Monday September 13th.
