Kuwait: Farwaniya police raided many international call centers who illegally connect international calls through computer. The campaign resulted in the closure of four international call centers. KUWAIT: “I have orders from higher authorities to organize the traffic and the law will be implemented strictly, Assistant Interior Ministry Under Secretary for Traffic Affairs Major General Abdelfattah Al-Ali said. “I will change the traffic map within six months and wipe out the word wasta from the traffic dictionary ,” he added. “I have strict orders from higher authorities to organize traffic and the law will be implemented very strictly,” Major Ali said. KUWAIT: Jahra security director, Major General Ibrahim Al-Tarrah stated that the security inspection campaigns would continue tracking down residency violators, marginal labor force and people those who are wanted for various criminal offences. Major Al-Tarrah also stated that upon the directives from the First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, high-level communications were in process with the concerned embassies to make sure that they fully understand the significance of the security measures. Indian embassy in Kuwait seeks 6-month grace period

KUWAIT:  The Indian Embassy in Kuwait yesterday sought a six-month grace period for residency violators and urged authorities to stop harassment and arrest of people with valid documents. The Indian embassy officials yesterday held talks with officials at the Foreign Ministry and conveyed the embassy’s deepest concern over the continuous harassment and arrests of Indians during the ongoing crackdown against illegal residents in the country. MoI may revoke licenses of ex-students, working wives

KUWAIT: The Interior Ministry’s Assistant Undersecretary for Traffic Affairs Maj Gen Abdelfattah Al-Ali said the Traffic Department is preparing to revoke driving licenses of expat students who were issued these licenses based on their university studies. Kuwait implements new hospital timings

Manama: Kuwait’s health ministry has gone ahead with its plan to limit treatment at the Jahra public hospital outpatient clinics exclusively to Kuwaiti patients.
Kuwaitis will be treated in the morning and non-Kuwaitis will be treated in the evenings at the medical facility west of the capital, Kuwait City. The changes, announced in May, were implemented on June 1.

INDIA/KUWAIT: A sacked Indian Airlines (IA) officer has been jailed for four years for possessing disproportionate assets worth Rs63.06 lakh, double his known income, by a Delhi court which said he failed to maintain the “purity” of public office. Special CBI Judge Kanwaljeet Arora awarded four years rigorous jail to Greater Kailash resident Rohit Sehgal, son of a retired DCP in Delhi Police, and also directed him to pay Rs5 lakh fine, while observing that the ‘kuch nahi hota’ (nothing happens) attitude has resulted in raising the audacity of people to flout laws and needed to be checked.

KUWAIT: The General Traffic Department welcomes any complaints forwarded by Kuwaitis or foreigners living in Kuwait regarding traffic tickets issued during the ongoing crackdowns against traffic violations. This was revealed by Undersecretary Assistant for the Traffic Department in the Interior Ministry, Major General Abdulfattah Al-Ali, who insisted at the same time that a complaint would not be enough to cancel a ticket that has been issued.

Assistant Undersecretary Dr Omar Al-Sayed Omar said in a press release that number of cases found since last year amounted to about 420, through 4,477 inspection round were made.

KUWAIT: It seems that the Muslim expats living in Kuwait won’t be able to go for Hajj (pilgrimage) this and next year due to the enlarging renovations taking place in Holy Makkah. These renovation works caused that the Saudi authorities responsible for Hajj refused to increase the quota for Kuwaiti pilgrims more than 8,000. So the expatiates were advised to go for Hajj from their home country, as the quota of 8,000 only include 7,000 Kuwaitis and 1,000 Bedoons.

The campaign led by Colonel Mohammad Al-Sharhan resulted in the arrest of 215 homosexual boys and girls belonging to different nationalities, violators of residency law, drunkards, drug users, gamblers and people wanted in different criminal and civil cases. All the arrested people were sent to the concerned authorities.
