Humidity and dust during Ramadan

Kuwait – Meteorologist Dr. Saleh Al-Ajairi affirmed that the high temperatures will continue during the Holy Month of Ramadan and that they will reach 46 degrees Celsius.

Kuwait eyes tax on high-income Kuwaiti and expatriate workers

Kuwait: The government is thinking of imposing taxes on high-income Kuwaiti and expatriate workers, while exempting the middle and low income citizens, which means about 90 percent of Kuwaitis will not be required to pay tax, reports Al-Arrouiah daily quoting a reliable source.

Gold sales down in Kuwait

Gold sales in Kuwait are down, decreasing at least 50 percent compared to the same period in 2009 due to the hike of gold price.The second half of 2010 was the phase with the biggest drop of sales due to the start of the summer holiday, the travel of many people, and the closeness of Ramadan, seasons that are considered a priority by many people.

MEW to execute additional power transformer project

80% of workers in Kuwait dissatisfied with salaries

Eighty percent of workers in Kuwait are dissatisfied with their salaries, according to a new survey conducted by Bayt.com, which was released yesterday. Only 12 percent of those polled claimed to be satisfied with their salaries, while another eight percent said that they were unsure.

Call charges between GCC countries to reduce by 25%

Kuwait – The holy month of Ramadan will hit in accordance to astronomic calculations on August 11, said astrologist Adel Al-Saadoun on Saturday. Al-Saadoun told KUNA that the crescent for Ramadan would be forming on the August 10 Tuesday, at 6:01 a.m. making Wednesday the first day of the holy month in Kuwait.
