Kuwait warns against drug abuse as 8 die from overdose in Jan.

Kuwait – Kuwait’s interior ministry said that eight people died from overdose in January. The victims are six Kuwaitis and two foreigners, according to the report published in the local press.

Kuwait City – Abuse of domestic workers in Kuwait is rising, and maids in the Gulf emirate face prosecution when they try to escape, Human Rights Watch said on Wednesday. The New York-based rights group said migrant domestic workers have minimal protection from employers who withhold salaries, force them to work long hours with no days off, deprive them of adequate food or abuse them physically or sexually.

Travel agencies in Kuwait face credit cards scam – official warns

Kuwait – Travel agencies in Kuwait should be warned of the presence of international scam groups that use false credit cards, said an official here Monday. Managing Director and Head of the Master Group for Aviation Dr. Bader Al-Sa’ad told KUNA that the scam occurred when such parties would use false credit cards to book for hotel and flights, noting that highly professional con-artists would be using such cards.
