Kuwait (KUNA): The Meteorology Department at Kuwait Civil Aviation Department Tuesday expected dust to subside gradually today and that there would be improved visibility by the end of the day. The department said the dusty weather is caused by a cold front coming from southern Europe, crossing the Arabian Peninsula, thus carrying along dust now affecting visibility across Kuwait.

Visibility at Kuwait International Airport reached a low of 300 meters at one point, with drop in temperature, but the situation is expected to improve.

Tonight is expected to be cold with minimum temperature at the airport forecast at five degrees, and the temperature drops even further in desert areas to reach as low as three degrees.

The cold front is expected to affect the state for two more days, bringing relatively cold weather at day and clear cold nights with northwesterly winds of speeds 10-30 kilometers per hour.

The maximum temperature expected for the next two days is meanwhile 21 degrees, the department said, and the minimum was forecast at four degrees.

Meanwhile at Kuwait International Airport, Director of the Operations Department Essam Al-Zamil said though visibility was very poor at one point, it had improved to reach 1,000 meters.

He told KUNA the inclement weather did not affect operations at the airport; all takeoffs and landings were on schedule, there were no changes in route , and there were no cancellations of any flights, taking off or landing.
