MEW calls on subscribers to pay fees
Kuwait – Assistant Undersecretary for Consumer Affairs at Ministry of Electricity and Water (MEW) Engineer Jassim Al-Lingawi has asked all subscribers to pay the electricity and water fees. He pointed out that paying the fees will enable the subscribers to continue enjoying electricity and water services.
Subscribers can pay fees at Consumer Affairs Centers that are located in the various Kuwaiti areas or through the MEW website: www.mew.gov.kw.Al-Lingawi stated that the ministry will adopt various measures in coordination with the companies that have been hired for collecting fees to protect the rights of the employees who work for those companies.
According to the new procedures, the ministry will not pay any money to those companies unless the companies submit a bank statement to ministry indicating that the company has paid the salary of all its employees. The ministry also aims at avoiding any strikes that employees may go on if companies delay the payment of salaries.
