Call charges between GCC countries to reduce by 25%
Kuwait: Assistant Undersecretary for Administrative, Financial and Planning Affairs at the Ministry of Communication said Saturday that the ministry and local telecommunication companies are coordinating to execute a vision to reduce the fare of telephone calls by 25 percent starting from September 1.
He explained that concerned authorities in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries have noticed that telephone fares are too high and some citizens are purchasing sim-cards from the countries they are visiting which are cheaper.
As a result, the GCC nations have decided to regulate this issue by setting the cost per second and not charging by minute which will eventually reduce the cost of calls.
