MP proposes payment of emergency medical fees by sponsors
Kuwait – MP Dr. Waleed Al-Tatabaie has proposed that the fees of medical tests, X-rays and surgeries conducted for expatriate workers in case of emergency should be paid by the sponsor of the company sponsoring the expatriate workers.
Al-Tatabaie submitted a proposal to the Parliament in which he said that some foreigners involved in accidents have to pay for medical tests, X-rays and surgeries on their own. He added that paying such fees by the sponsors will reduce the nefarious practice of visa trading and will protect public funds.
MP Al-Tatabaie also proposed giving nature of work allowance of 150-200 Kuwaiti dinars for social workers working at public schools. He said he appreciated the role played by social workers at schools, adding that approving such allowance will encourage many people to join this field.
