Professional tests planned for expats coming to Kuwait

Kuwait: Prospective expatriate workers seeking employment opportunities in Kuwait will now be required to pass professional training tests conducted at centers located in their home countries. They will also be required to take other tests held in Kuwait.

The new move has been suggested by the body Kuwait Professions Organization which will undertake activities in coordination with concerned state ministries, as well as embassies of Kuwait located abroad through the Foreign Ministry.

Several meetings were held with the [ministries of] Social Affairs, Interior and Foreign Affairs as well as the Chamber of Commerce to devise a mechanism to recruit workers in accordance with the establishment of a labor authority,” said Head of the Organization Dr Homoud Al-Madhaf.

This new move aims to control the labor market, and strike a balance by supplying highly qualified labor forces that are capable of meeting the demands of job owners while avoiding the recruitment of unqualified manpower, reported Al-Qabas.

[The organization] is currently testing applicants for work at schools for students with special needs. This is in coordination with the MSAL and the Public Authority for the Disabled People’s Affairs,” Al-Madhaf added.

We want schools of special needs students to be equipped with highly-trained teaching staff who are able to carry out educational duties professionally while maintaining the high quality of the educational facilities they work in, “said Education Ministry’s Assistant Undersecretary for Qualitative Education, Mohammad Al-Kandari.
