Kuwait – The Deputy Director of the Environment Public Authority Ali Haidar asserted importance of taking a decision and end imports and the manufacturing of foams due to their effects and harm on human health.Haidar told KUNA after a meeting held between the authority and the ministry of interior which tackled the recent phenomena regarding youth cruising during national and liberation days using foams on bystanders and the injuries to many as result from such acts.

The official said a recommendation has been sent to the cabinet to take the necessary measures and ban the use of foam, including manufacturing its substance inside the country due to hazardous affects.

Al-Bahar Hospital received during the celebration days many injuries as result of using foam due to its chemical nature on the eyes in particular, Haidar said.

For his part, the assistant undersecretary of the interior ministry Khalil Al-Shemali said that his ministry is keen on the safety of citizens and residents, calling as well for taking action to protect the health of humans.

People expressed genuine emotions during the country’s celebrations last month, but such acts should not be at the expense of laws and regulations which protect the safety and health of all in society, Al-Shemali added.
