Kuwait: Assistant Undersecretary of the Interior Ministry for Port Affairs Maj. Gen. Yusuf Abdullah Al-Saudi honored, on Wednesday, the security management of the Public Administration for Airport Security for seizing the biggest marijuana farm. He said in a press statement, that this honor was ordered under the directions of Minister of Interior Sheikh Jaber Khaled Al-Sabah.

He stressed the need to continue these efforts for the sake of security and safety of the citizens, adding that everyone is required to work to fight all kinds of crimes, he added.

He praised the efforts of director of security controls, Major Sheikh Abdullah Malik Al-Sabah, Head of research and Investigation Major Zaid Al-Shammari, Head of Operations, Captain Ahmad Al-Gaood, officers, and administration personnel for their efforts to protect Kuwait from illegal substances.

The officers thanked the security leaders for honoring them in less than 24 hours from seizing the farm, adding that Kuwait’s security and safety is their number one goal.

Interior Ministry personnel busted a citizen on Tuesday for cultivating one of the largest ever marijuana farms found in Kuwait in his private garden located in the Mubarak Al-Kabeer area, the ministry reported.

A ministry statement said the bust was made after they received intelligence regarding the farm and the confirmation from a secret source verified the accuracy of the tip. Evidence was collected and proper procedures were taken to make the arrest.

The team assigned to the case included junior and senior officers, as well as administrative staff, to prepare for the bust. All the people who visited the house, in Al-Qesoor, were tailed and their identities investigated, in addition to those living in the house.

The raid was made late Monday night after securing the required warrants, and the owner of the house was arrested under the influence and in the possession of a number of Marijuana plants, both in the garden and in dried form.

Different planting pots were also found with seedlings and a large quantity of freshly picked buds were also found at the house. The suspect is now undergoing interrogations by the concerned authorities, the statement said.
