Hunger for women & land lead to the end of Swami Nityananda
Bangalore: The hunger for power, women and usurping land were responsible for the downfall of self-proclaimed godman Swami Nityananda. It is rumoured that Swami Nityananda sex tape sting was ordered by powerful politicians who had a dispute over some land with the godman. The swami had a property dispute in Tamil Nadu with the Marans, who own the TV channel that first exposed his romp with Ranjitha.

Besides, former don Mutthappa Rai was also purportedly eying the ashram’s 19 acre of land in Karnataka. Besides, its alleged that Rai’s men had torched the ashram after the sex clip went on air.
Prime property
The ashram is located next to Rai’s residence near Bidadi. It’s held that Rai had spoken to the pontiff several times on the issue; the dispute between swami and Marans was long drawn and worsened since six months.
"The land dispute has nothing to do with the news we aired on our channel," said Vijayakumar, senior vice president of Sun Group and in-charge of Karnataka operations.
"We went after the swami to expose him like any other responsible media group and our sting operation is genuine," he added.
Though Muthappa Rai could not be contacted, his close associate Jagadish Gowda said, "In the beginning we thought he is really a holy man, but later realised he was not genuine. Gowda is the city president of Jaya Karnataka, a social outfit floated by Rai.
Swami harassed?
Meanwhile, the locals said that Rai used to harass swami by deploying at check post at the road that lead to swami’s ashram, thereby causing inconveniencing his devotees. "This was a tactic that adopted to force swami vacate the land.
But refuting the charges, Gowda said, "We have never harassed swami and don’t even want his land. Besides, he used to malign Rai to impress people." When asked about why his men went on rampage in the ashram and set it on fire, he did not respond.
Interestingly, sources in the ashram revealed that Swami Nityananda was being blackmailed since a month.
