During the launch event, the vendor met with top resellers and executives from the Kuwaiti IT channel to discuss the current market conditions and Lenovo’s future in-country plans. The overall Kuwaiti IT market is worth US$761m per year according to research from Business Monitor International (BMI).
Of this US$761m, BMI estimates that hardware will account for US$319m, driven by a technically aware and wealthy population base. Lenovo’s Idea product range is targeted at consumers and professionals alike.
Ali Al-Amine, acting general manager at Lenovo Middle East, Egypt and Pakistan, said: “Kuwait is the third largest IT market in the region after Saudi Arabia and the UAE. The market offers good opportunities for companies that are looking into investing or expanding their business. Kuwait is set to be one of the fastest growing countries in the region thanks to government’s initiatives to drive IT developments and companies from various sectors investing heavily in IT infrastructure and services.”
Zakaria Elhaj Eid, IT and digital product development manager at Alghanim, said: “The launch was a great success and it helped us to establish a direct dialogue with our key customers and target audience. Lenovo offered a live demonstration to the new range of Idea products which helped our customers realise its capabilities and the kind of experience it offers. Lenovo has always been very supportive and keen to provide us with training and resources to help us expand the business and meet our clients’ demands.”
