Fire Dept. official warns of exceeding use of electricity & mishaps
Kuwait – Exceeding the use of electricity and using electrical extensions of low-quality can set a fire, warned the Fire department on Sunday.Some houses and factories use poor adapters in operating equipments with heavy electrical loads which cause the outbreak of fire, Fire Department Public Relations Director, Khaleel Al Amir said in statements to KUNA.He added that fires have other causes such as children playing with flammable materials.
He stressed the need for the installation of fire extinguishers and smoke detectors in each home, which he described as “night watchman”. The device used to warn of a fire in a room or building may prevent the spread of fire to larger areas, he added. He called for training family members and workers on abiding by safety regulations and providing first-aid kit in case of emergencies.
