Kuwait:- Kuwaiti participation in the 19th New Delhi international book fair comes in the context of India being a promising market for both of publishers and writers at the world level, head of the Kuwaiti delegation taking part in the fair Muhammed Hassan Al-Badah said here Saturday.Al-Badah added, in a statement to the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA), that this has a particular significance as India is the biggest third publisher of the English books in the world after both of the US and Britain, besides its issue of publications in more than 35 languages.

He went on to say that Kuwait participates in this book fair, the second largest of its kind in the world, out of its keenness on communicating and interacting with other cultures and civilizations, pointing out that this fair provides us with a precious opportunity to further know the others and introduce ourselves to them as well.Al-Badah said that the historic ties binding Kuwait and India and the distinctive bilateral relations between them necessitate from us preserving such ties and relations as they are, so we are always keen to take part in all functions and activities held by the republic of India.

In this context, Al-Badah expressed his appreciation for the Indian side’s keenness on the participation of the State of Kuwait in such fair that is attended by 1200 international bodies, saying that this stems out of Kuwait’s good reputation and rich heritage in the cultural, literary and artistic fields at the Arab and Islamic levels. He concluded with saying that this prestigious Kuwaiti position is a source of credit and pride for all of us.
