Sahara buys NY's Plaza Hotel.

http://ibnlive.in.com/news/new-yorks-pl ... 532-7.html

I aint no jet-setter nor a VIP who travels around the world nor an avid tourist....who is elatted by that news or anything.....as a matter of fact...the only Plaza Hotel, I know n hav been to, (as a guest), was the one in Kuwait.

But wat got me thinking was, tat it was owned by an Israeli Real Estate Co and another Saudi based company owned by Prince Talal.

Err...hmmm....wasnt there something called 'The Israeli Boycott'....thing or something, which was studiously followed by all the Gulf states....???? Or is it scrapped...and I wasnt aware of it...???

From the AT.

"KUWAIT CITY, July 30: The Meteorological Expert at General Administration of Civil Aviation Jamal Ibrahim revealed that a wave of dry heat is expected to hit the country within the next two days, adding that the expected temperature would be 50 degrees at Kuwait International Airport while it could be higher in deserts.
Ibrahim implored people of Kuwait to avoid outdoor activities when the temperature is high to avoid suffering from sunstroke."

Guess tats the reason why I felt 'heated-up', this morning...???

Passed by the new City Center outlet at Dajeej, yesterday evening...just after 'futoor'.

The place is easy to find. Jus go straight ahead from the MOI Traffic Dept and voila u will see their sign on the next junction on ur left. The place is huge...with an almost empty 'paid' parking lot. They say tat parking is free for CC customers....but yesterday when we went there...it was free for all. The entry n exit gates, were left open. The place is huge n all their sections are accomodated in 3 floors.....hence the walking space is reduced....unlike CC-Salmiya nor was it crowded like CC-Shuwaikh.

The less crowd may be due to the fact tat it only opened up recently n ppl are getting to know abt its where-abouts or must hav been the timing.....(jus after futoor). The first floor n the basement are dedicated to supermarket, frozen stuff, veggies, clothes section, cutlery etc etc. The second floor is dedicated to Kids play area n food court. We spent a lot of time hanging around the clothes section....(yes biwi was with us)....and by the time came up from the basement.....supermarket....it was way past 9:30pm.

Our lil one wanted to go to the upper floor....but we misled the poor lady by saying tat it was still under construction n left the place. Will take her there....soon...so tat she spend some time fooling n playing around the play area....and also chek out their food court....(wateva there is?).

Over-all...we liked the experience n the new-ness of the place and most importantly...was happy with their 'state of the art' trolleys....tat dint creak nor shriek nor go side-ways, when u push it.
