Hello and a very good morning to all,
A brand new 'hot' day and a new week, for us all, to endure n survive. I seriously envy the guys outside Q8, enjoying the cooler weather, elsewhere. Wish I was there too. Dunno why, but I feel tat the heat, this year is more than last or previous years. Is it so? Or is it tat I hav forgotten its intensity...??? Ho saktha hai...mai buddah hogaya...!!!
Anyways....how was ur weekend guys? Did u see the opening ceremony of the Olympics? Too bad, it was late at night, but thank God, it was the weekend....so we watched it, till the team parade. By we, I mean.... me n the gals....yes, even the lil one. Though they weren''t exactly watching the show....but was playing their kiddy girlie games, in their room, while I watched the ceremony hoping for something 'special' to happen. And as usual....wifey, was fast asleep.
To tell you the truth....the show dint give me the jolt nor the awe nor the 'wow' nor 'ohhhh' factor....as they said they wud. Maybe I was having high expectations. Also sad to see tat such a big country like The United Kingdom, had nothing much to showcase (on culture or history or anything) except for some farmers in their farmlands, fictional characters like 007, Harry 'Pottan' and Mr. Bean...!!!! Shiish....!!!
Forget tat....did u see tat music or rock band....??? Who the fook were they? And watta a freaking music....??? I mean, here is country tat gave the world....famous music bands like Rolling Stones, Duran Duran, U2, Police, The Beatles...to name a few. Anyway....who am I to complain or criticise....??? I aint no big shot. I'm jus a simple seeda saada guy....who freaking expected something betta from Mr. millionaire Danny-Boy....rather than a 'slum-dog show'.

Good morning JB and good morning NRIs! I didn't watch the Opening ceremony as usual. I think the last event I saw was the Seoul Olympics but after reading the news I wish I had at least watched the Indian team march past and the mystery lady

At first, I dint give it much thot...and thot tat she was part n parcel, of the contingent....until I read it on the news....!!!??? Ya....who the fook is she...??? Must hav been a game stewardess, who got a (way) bit carried away, by the sudden flashes of flashes, TV grabs, the deafening music n all tat pomp n flair tat she forgot ' the line' where she shud hav ended her escort.

Hey Matt...I did see ur msg...but we were back....a bit late and it was late to reply. We had gone shopping....or rather shud I say....'hunting'...for shoes for the lil one. No probs....maybe some other time. Will give u a buzz. Yes...as Matt promised, he wud hav a look at my 'super computer', over the weekend....he did pass by....but we werent there. A sincere n truely helpful neighba. Now coming back to the 'hunting'.....its been a while since my wifey, was in search for some pairs of shoes, for our lil one....and she wanted to chek out CenterPoint for tat. But unfortunately, during Ramadan, they open up only at 8:30pm in the evening n the mornings are a no-no for us. We had gone to many shoe shops, including CP (but they were closed).....n other places ranging from shops all the way from Salmiya Souk.....to Lulu Qurain....al Rai....Max....and yesterday to Muthanna....and she still dint find any, tat got her notice, attention or liking. I quote wat our eldest said...on our way back yesterday...empty-handed...'mommy...instead of going in search for YOUR (kinda) shoes...why dont we make a 'composite sketch' of wat u r looking for and post it on the net or papers...??? It wud be more easier?" Come to think of it...in a way....she is right. Its best to do tat or draw up her 'dream shoes' n get it hand-made. If u look at it on economy basis....with all the fuel...time...beverages...ice-creams...sandwichs....other un-wanted things n accessories...and the money spent...I cud hav bought so many shoes tat wud make Imelda Marcos go bonkers. Shiiish.

Feeling bored. I wanna watch some Olympics. Some action.....espcially Women's Beach Volleyball. But the present location, in the office, is seriously 'hampering', my wishes.

Happened over the weekend.
A guy visiting the local mallu take-away shop near our building parked his car on the side of the road, blocking a car tat was parked on the bldg premises.
Talk abt coincidence or wateva.....the tenants, came out n wanted to go for a ride, but was blocked by the car of the first guy. As it was destined, the guy who blocked the tenant's car....dint leave any number on the dash...so the guy who was blocked, cudnt contact nor call the driver of the other car. So the guy got into his own car n started to honk away.
After repeated honking for a good 5 minutes or so....intermittently....the guy who blocked the car...coolly came out of the shop n coolly walked over to his car n got in....all this in no much hurry or an inkling of the physical phenomenon called 'speed'. The waiting driver n his friends....shot off a comment to the guy....and the jerk replied something back. I dint hear wat they exchanged...as I was watching all this from my flat. Anyways, to cut things short, the guy who blocked the car, was like 'who the hell are you to talk to me like tat'....and wasn't in no hurry to move his car. Couple of the other guys...really got pissed off with his attitude and I thot they wud smack him on the face....but luckily...ppl from around the vicinity, stepped in n defused the situation....and eventually everyone went their separate ways.
My simple seeda saada opinion.
You block a car...n leave....be it for 1 hour or 1 minute or even 1 second....you must leave ur number on the dash....unless if u hav tat super duper ability to see the future. You dont know when the driver of the car (tat u blocked), wud wanna move his car.
Its only a matter of courtesy n good manners...when you say...'excuse me for the delay' or 'sorry'...with smile, as you remove ur car...instead of acting like a big jerk with a bigger ego.
Of course, all the above shud be null n void n cancelled...n reset to factory settings, if the other person tries to act smart be a smraty pants, even after ur politeness. Kick (his) ass....
The other thing I noticed is tat these guys seem to be acting like some kinda big shot...goonda...wateva...esp when it comes driving on the (keralafornia) roads.....n when it involves another fellow countrymen or ppl from the same state. I doubt they wud act minisculely same or big toughie like, if the other driver or person, was wearing a long white robe...aka....a dishdasha....or if the other person had 'arab' looks. Why this sudden surge of fighting urge...when it comes to our own countrymen?
