Good morning DLC.

Nice to hear tat u had a 'quiet' family time, during Easter...and even betta to know tat the church visits, ended up the way u wanted it. :tu

Likewise....ours too....(the church service)...was organized in such a way tat....(how u say, it)....yani, if anyone asked...'Did u go to church?'....the answer wud be a re-sounding....'Yes, of course'. ;)

But....only wifey attended the 'actual' church services, in the stuffy over-crowded hall....whilst we were 'around' the church premises....in the Maggie, driving around...the church....and went back by the time it was abt to finish n meet a few ppl...so tat they can 'vouch', tat we (me n the gals), did come to church. ;)

It was the case for both days....Good Friday and Easter....and we loved it. :y

Howdy folks?

Lately, I sort of slipped in to a nocturnal routine... So, haven't been around or awake to be around! :D

Howdy to you too....'sleep-less' beauty. (Has the Batman's virus gotcha...???). ;)

Why dont u chek out with a doc?

Maybe he can prescribe you, a small dose of sleeping pills....naah....not for long-term use....but jus to re-adjust the tiny gears, of ur body clock, to suit the present timings.

You know tat....'sleepless-ness', is not good for health....dont ya?

Over the weekend.....we visited, the only 'hyped up' Chettinad restaurant in Kuwait and again....it left me (n us) totally disappointed n dejected.

We decided to chek it out, after our initial run there, a few months ago....after it opened....during which we found the 'professionalism n the dishes offered'...nor the hype....to live up, to our expectations, in any categories...be it taste-wise, service wise and even quantity-wise....for the price.

Thot tat after a few months in business....the (management) folks...wud hav got numerous suggestions/recommendations (and even complaints) for improvements....but sadly...it was the same (or worse...as per the other's opinion).

But wat made me write this post was....a small incident tat happened, whilst we were there.

Like before, our order was taken by a guy, all decked-up n dressed-up, to disguise his lack of knowledge of his job....any kinda (chef's dish of the day) suggestions...nor of the usual dishes offered in their menu and even language...let alone the fluency part. He was like programmed to tell...'sorry sir, we dont hav tat, now'....and on asking the reason...again his brief 'programmed' answer...'it finished'. (Mind you it was around 2:30 in the afternoon..!!!). We even thot of asking him to order (for us)....'wat was available'....instead of us wasting time to go thru the menu and get a repeated....'sorry saar, it finished'. :bang
(They dint hav bloody 'pooris' even...!!! ).

to be continued.....

Finally, he got our (wat we were forced to) order...and left. The food was served, after a reasonable wait and we dug in, to 'savour' it (literally)....as we were hungry.

Btw, we were in a private cabin n after a while, we rang the bell, to usher the waiter, to take down, wat we needed (more) n to replenish a few items.

Lo n behold....this time around...another guy, dressed in a different attire n an apron over it...came over. At first, it seemed to us, tat he came (running) from the kitchen or the work-place or you know...somewhere where he was working....and dint look, like a person tat is to be present or presentable, in front of, a customer. :?

Anyways...we told him wat we wanted n it seemed tat he had a good memory...coz he took everything mentally (no pad to write on nor anything)...n left....only to return, in a matter of minutes, to re-confirm our (re)orders, again.

Tats when we noticed tat the poor guy...had a serious 'stammering' problem. I for one, felt sorry for his handicap and was all praises, for his positive attitude. (I mean, I wudnt gop up to a customer n speak if I had his stammer problem...no way). But not all are like me...and they wudn't hav the patience nor the empathy, for his differently-abled speech. Many wud either poke fun of him or belittle him....be it directly or in-directly.

You may say tat, we shud appreciate his attitude n so on...but lets be frank...no one..absolutly no one, who is serious abt the repute of their business, wud make/sent or even coerce such a person to a job, tat requires such a person to speak to a customer. No way. If u ask me...I wud blame the person, who made him come over n talk to us, at fault and not the waiter.

Wat do you say?

Woke up at 4, today morn n while switching thru channels....happened to notice, a movie on HBO...tat got me stuck, to the very finish. Dint see the beginning though....but dint miss much...as it was aasy to catch up, with the story. It was a romantic flick...but with 'subtle' humour.

Wonder how I missed it and why no reviews, from the 'in-house' critics....!!!???

Leap Year.
A good watch....if u like romance dabbed with 'funny irish kinda' humour.

Also over the weekend...we got a chance to compare the 'freshness' of some juices.....thanx to wifey n my lil one.

There is a new fresh fruit juice stall, tats come up, near the entrance of Lulu Qurain...run by a Syrian (I presume). He will 'juicy-fy' (blend ur choice of fruits) or leave it, as bite size chunks, in sweet syrup....as per ur liking in the cup, which is sold for 1 buck only.

The restaurant down our complex sells fresh fruit juices/cocktails n is priced cheaper....half a buck....but tats abt it. You will hav a sweet taste, for all his juices....be it orange, apples, bananas....n even cocktails...!!!! (I think it has to do with the 'syrup' tat he uses).

The other one, was a fruit stall at the food court, at Avenues. Though, they had 3 different sized cups...small, medium n large...to choose from (with different prices, of course)....they only had the medium n the large sized cips displayed n hence, was available. When I first ordered couple of juices of the small sizes (KD 1.150 each) the 'indian' juicer-chap, told me tat, they were out of the 'small' sized cups.

I wud hav bought the medium ones...but wifey wasnt very keen on it...as it wud go waste....plus, she wasnt tat thirsty for a 1.750 juice. ;)

As we thanked him n was abt to leave....the guy said...to hold on...and gave the juices in a medium sized cup...filled to the brim...but only charged for a small cup.

2 medium cups, were more than enuff, for all 4 of us....and more-over....we felt, tat the juices tasted betta, than the ones, we had at Lulu Qurain.

I wud not say get this instead of tat...but wud recommend both of them if u visit either of these places. :tu
